Knowing everything about eye operations

Sight defects

From the age of 18, when eye-sight has become stable, numerous simple or complex sight defects can be treated::

However, every one of us is unique. A visit to an eye specialist is primordial for seeing whether treatment is possible for you and what you can expect from it.

TECHNIQUES :

There is not just one, but several techniques, such as::

Radial keratotomy, which is used increasingly rarely.

The excimer surface laser, photorefractive keratectomy (PRK): this consists of reducing the outer layers of corneal stroma.
The advantage of this technique is its safety and the speed of the operation.

The Lasik (Laser Epithelial Keratomileusis) :this method consists of using a laser in depth on the cornea after surgically moving away a ‘flap’ of corneal tissue that is put back in place at the end of the operation.

Intraocular lenses (single and multi-focals) :today, multi-focals  are especially capable of providing a definitive solution for treating presbyopia.

The technique used depends on the patient’s age, his profession and his sight requirements.
