For the ALL LASER LASIK, the operation takes place quite simply at the Roosevelt Vision Laser Centre.
The patient arrives accompanied by another person, without any lenses or any make-up for women. He or she is taken in hand by our assistants, given appropriate clean clothing, and two drops of anaesthetic are placed in the eyes. There is no injection or other painful act.
The patient is then taken into the clean room and lies down comfortably on a rotating bed. Throughout the operation, the surgeon will talk to the patient and keep him or her permanently informed on the progression of the different phases: Preparing the flap on the right eye and then the left eye, then treatment of the sight defect with the excimer laser, first one eye and then the other.
The operation, which takes place perfectly naturally and painlessly, takes about 20 minutes for both eyes. At the end of operations, patients sit up, can open their eyes and are surprised to see that they can already see despite a slight haze which will disappear within twelve hours at the most.
Before leaving the centre, the patient is examined using a slit lamp to check that the flaps are correctly positioned.
